Day Two: Fourth of July in Maui

Navigating the time change well. We stayed up until 10:30 pm or so Hawaii time before crashing and woke at 8:00 am. This is our usual work week schedule. Should help us adjust.

The Waikiki Marriott is def a city experience. Lots of traffic noise and many police sirens throughout the night. Can't wait to get to Maui!
Mediocre view from our hotel in Waikiki. At least the trees are pretty!

Later on the 4th:

First of all, excuse any typos, etc. I am wicked jet lagging, but wanted to get a blog post in for those of you who care. Mom! :-) We are in bumper to bumper traffic getting out of lahaina  after seeing the fireworks.

Wow! What a day! We flew into Maui and the water was a gorgeous color. Amazing! We got to the hotel and checked into our room and then turned right back around to get to lahaina on time for the fireworks dinner cruise.

We got to the boat in time and had a really nice cruise. The musical entertainment was a primo guitarist who played Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana and more. What a talented guy! The meal was good and the couple that sat with us was really sweet. The fireworks were good, but short; only ten minutes. Nothing like being out on the water though and the sunset was beautiful!

So sleep is in order, for sure. We are hanging at our hotel tomorrow. Gonna check out the beach, the pool, and we have the luau at our hotel for dinner. Our room is great with a spectacular view. Pictures to come of our hotel, view etc. tomorrow.

Aloha and Mahalo!
