Day Thirteen: Last Night in Hawaii

What an awesome trip and belated honeymoon we have had. We flew to Oahu today and will be going to dinner soon.

Going to bed early tonight since we are going on a bus tour of the island and have to be there at 7:30 a.m. We will get back about 4:00 p.m. and our flight is at 9:30 p.m.

This tour will bring us to all the destinations we wanted to see: Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Waimea Bay, plus temples, lookouts, and the Dole plantation. It is an air conditioned bus :-) and then plenty of chances to get out and explore at the spots we visit.

Tomorrow night (Hawaiian time) we fly to Los Angeles, then to Minn., then to Logan. Needless to say, this will be insanely exhausting since we will be flying through the night (Hawaiian time). It was worth it. Vacation of a lifetime! Aloha!!

Day Twelve: Napali Coast Dinner Cruise

What a day! We drove to Port Allen to meet up with the Dolphin Tours cruise company. Once everyone showed up (3:00) we walked down to the boat, took our shoes off and put them in a huge box that they locked, and then boarded the catamaran. Similar to the boat from the snorkeling tour, this was a boat that had seats on the bow and underneath, but in addition, there was a third higher level that was great during sunset.

It took about an hour to get to where the official Napali Coast starts. This first hour was beautiful, but the rainforest area of Napali, with the caves and waterfalls was the best! Josh took all those pics with his real camera since the iPhones just could not do it justice! Will share once ready.

It was such a nice day out and the ride was an adventure, very choppy and most of us on the bow got wet. After we saw the coast, we turned around and headed back to catch the sunset near the harbor. During this time a buffet dinner was served.

During this trip, we saw turtles surface in the water,  a seal on the beach and many flying fish. There were terns as well flying low along the water's surface.

The crew was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The cruise started at 3:00 and we got off the boat about 7:45. An awesome trip for our last full day here in Kauai!

Tomorrow we fly back to Oahu. We are staying there one night and flying out about 10:00 p.m. Hawaii time on Tuesday. It will be exhausting to fly through the night! Gak! Not looking forward to that or our vacation ending. I am looking forward to seeing Mojo and family. :-)

Day Eleven: North Coast Drive

We had a wonderful day driving north all the way until the road literally ended. Then we came back to the hotel for a swim and dinner at Duke's. Tomorrow we have the dinner cruise! Aloha!

Day Ten: We Love Kauai!

We spent the day mostly at the pool today. It is gorgeous with fountains and waterfalls. It was about 85 degrees and there was a cool breeze. So awesome. I went over to the beach for a bit, but the waves were too strong and my knee acted up. I gladly went back to the pool and the shaded lounge chair with Josh. We were in the pool most of the day.

Tonight, we took a drive about 25 minutes south to Poipu. It was so nice out. We went to a hot dog place and then got gelato. There was a rainstorm that lasted a few minutes and then a beautiful rainbow. Great end to the day.

There is a rainbow in this picture, but it is hard to see it. It was so vibrant!

We booked a sunset dinner cruise for Sunday night to see the Na Pali coast. Tomorrow, we are driving to the north coast and we may snorkel at Tunnel Beach. Aloha!
